Grand Hotel Royal, Pompei

Grand Hotel Royal offers free parking with luggage storage until 9pm on the day of checkout, allowing guests to explore the ruins without the car. The 24-hour front desk provides room service and a concierge that books Vesuvius tours and restaurant reservations on short notice. Newly checked-in guests receive free beverages upon arrival, served in the garden or the shared lounge.

Each room includes a pillow menu and a rainfall shower in the private bathroom, with air conditioning and a wardrobe. The Double Room with Private Entrance and Garden View offers direct access to the outdoor dining area and the glass conservatory. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and a desk, and are located in a quiet wing away from road noise.

A buffet breakfast is served daily on the terrace or inside the glass conservatory, with fresh pastries, fruit, coffee, and made-to-order cappuccino. The on-site bar offers wine, champagne, and a snack bar with fruits available throughout the day. Breakfast can be packed as a to-go option for guests leaving before the standard service hours.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance and a 5-minute walk from the main restaurant strip and the cathedral. The concierge provides a hand-drawn map with shortcuts to the ruins and recommends local dining spots, then makes reservations by phone. Organized transfers to Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast can be arranged directly from the hotel, including a private car tour of Positano.

The hotel allows pets in designated rooms and offers pet-friendly accommodations with direct garden access. The family-run operation treats guests as long-lost friends, with staff remembering preferences and offering personalized advice on daily excursions. Children receive special attention, and the garden patio provides a safe space for families to relax after sightseeing.
